We are family and children friendly!
We focus on education and preventative care to ensure visits are positive and children feel safe and comfortable.
We are often asked from new parents when should their child first visit the dentist?
Generally, children should see the dentist after their first birthday as an introduction to the office and to provide a preliminary examination of their teeth and gums. We may clean their teeth with topical fluoride and show parents a proper oral care and hygiene routine that they can administer at home.
A first visit to the dentist includes:
- Examine mouth and gums
- Evaluate adverse habits like thumb sucking
- Check to see if fluoride is necessary
- Teach proper teeth, gum and tongue cleaning
- Suggest a schedule for regular dental visits
Getting ready to visit the dentist
We suggest that before you bring your child to our office, that parents prepare for their visit by reading books and talking about your own dental experience.
